Pastor Sam made a decision to follow Jesus Christ in High School, a decision he is thankful for everyday of his life. After seminary, he went to Kenya, East Africa to do missions work with the poor. It is there, God burned in him the vision to train up disciples (forerunners) that will work together to break the boundaries in their own community and beyond. Pastor Sam is abundantly blessed with a house full of godly women. Sam is married to his partner and his better half Hee Jung. Sam and Hee Jung have four daughters. Anna, Kristen, Trinity, and Sage. His family is a gift from God that reminds him daily of God’s joy and kindness.

Pastor Sam’s favorite verse is also his life verse which is Galatians 2:20. For many years the all time favorite movies were Ben-Hur and It’s a Wonderful Life (He wants to clarify that this does not reflect his age). For years he tried to get his wife to see these two great classics. After watching Ben-Hur, it has become Hee Jung’s favorite movie. Every Christmas it is Sam’s goal to get Hee Jung to watch the Christmas classic without her falling asleep.

Though the Lee family butchers the Korean Language, they love to butcher and consume kalbi, bulgogi and anything Korean. Both Sam and Hee Jung share love for Japanese food. Anna and Kristen their two oldest are also developing a taste for “getting too expensive” Japanese cuisine.

While in Nepal, Sam saw a family of 5 riding on one motorcycle. He believes he can do one better… if his wife approves : )
